BRAIN DEAD SUBMISSIVE -NEW YORK POST

Here is an example of S&M gone wrong.. Not knowing the full story, I can not pass judgment on this Dominatrices practice and procedures. However, liability is one of my greatest concerns. Sometimes we must set limits for our clients when they are not able to. And we must know what we are doing. You wouldn't send an inexperienced stunts man onto a set in Hollywood, nor would you have a doctor without a license perform surgery on you.

Experience is our teacher and guide along with learning appropriate technique through qualified individuals. I've had some scary experiences when I first began. I've learned from them. For starters – never suspend anyone with their arms above the air for more then 5 minutes at a time . If they are over forty don't do it at all. Also be very careful with extreme bondage; especially mummification. In both of these situations there is a restriction of blood flow which could drastically effect the heart, brain and other organs.

But, no matter how much precaution you take, there is never enough protection from liability. I've even tried to purchase liability insurance in the past. No carrier will pick you up other then Lloyds of London at astronomical rates. Even if you inquire about medical conditions, there are many clients that aren't even aware of their own disorders. If someone had a heart attack in a pizza parlor, it's a lot more acceptable and explainable rather then in a dungeon.

But stories such as this one as seen on page five in the New York Post are what give good legitimate Dominas a bad reputation as well our a bad taste of our profession. It makes me ill to see them refer to the dungeon as a sex club. I know I'm not serving up sex to my clients. I'm not even sure that they were either. The press has a lovely way of twisting facts to make a headline.
